Food Processing Facility Consultant
Southern Snacks is a line of better-for-you vegetable chips made from sustainably sourced vegetables directly from NC Farms.
We are aiming to establish our own vacuum-frying vegetable chips manufacturing facility.
Our startup company is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Food Processing Facility Consultant to assist us in building our experimental food processing facility for vacuum-fried vegetable chips. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the vacuum frying process, equipment selection, plant layout design, budget management ,and utilities planning.
Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on knowledge about the vacuum frying process, including understanding the principles of vacuum frying, the equipment needed, and the production process.
Work with the team to select the necessary equipment, including the capacity and features required for the vacuum-frying process.Evaluate the pros and cons of different equipment options based on cost, performance, and quality.
Assist in the design of the plant layout, ensuring that it meets the necessary requirements for efficient production, safety, and quality control. Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure that the layout is optimized for the vacuum-frying process.
Provide budget management expertise, advising on cost-effective equipment selection, and optimizing the budget while maintaining quality.
Consult on the utilities required by authorities and the business for the food processing facility, including electricity, water, and others, to ensure that they meet the necessary requirements for optimal operations.
Advise on operational optimization, including production scheduling, quality control, and supply chain management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in food processing facilities, preferably in vacuum frying of vegetables.
Proven track record of successfully designing and building food processing facilities from the ground up, including equipment selection, plant layout design, and budget management.
Excellent technical and analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate equipment performance and optimize production processes.
Strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements for food processing facilities and utilities planning.
